Risa Sokoloff is a partner of Chitiz Pathak LLP.

Risa formerly practiced commercial litigation at Fogler, Rubinoff LLP and McCarthy Tétrault LLP.  Risa’s civil litigation practice covers a wide-range of corporate and commercial cases including shareholder disputes and oppression claims, contract disputes, limited partnership disputes and both management side and executive employee side employment/wrongful dismissal matters including matters before the Human Rights Commission.  Risa consults with companies, both public and private with respect to employment agreements including the protection of confidential information and protection against competition.  Risa has extensive experience in bankruptcy and insolvency litigation and court managed restructuring.  Risa also has a substantial practice in commercial landlord and tenant and acts for a number of large commercial landlords.

Risa has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court, the Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Tax Court of Canada as well as representing clients in a variety of alternative dispute forums including mediations and arbitrations and before the Human Rights Commission.
